Chapter 467: She deserves a beating

Mo Xiuchen’s eyebrows curved into a smile, his refined and handsome features gentle and accommodating. Catching her smiling eyes, he returned the gesture, flashing a dashing grin, then took a big step toward her. “I was afraid you were too anxious for me, so I didn’t dilly dally.”

“Ranran, since Mo Xiuchen came to pick you, I won’t hold you back, you should leave immediately.”

Bai Xiaoxiao said in a teasing tone.

“Alright, I’ll come to pick you up from the hospital tomorrow.”

Wen Ran was indeed a little tired, she spent a dozen hours on the plane, without even taking time to eat or sleep and went straight to the hospital when she landed.

Although she had a bowl of soup earlier due to Bai Xiaoxiao’s insistence, it didn’t really help. Most importantly, she wasn’t the only one who hadn’t got any rest, Mo Xiuchen hadn’t either.

He had a meeting with Xiao Wenqing, and although he didn’t show it, she could imagine that it didn’t bring him any pleasure. His earlier refusal to let her accompany him was most likely because he didn’t want to upset her.

“Of course, if you didn’t come to pick me up, I’d refuse to be discharged.”

Bai Xiaoxiao raised her eyebrows teasingly, causing Wen Ran to chuckle. “Okay, you should rest well. We’ll go ahead.”

She reached out and held Mo Xiuchen’s long clean hand.

She gave him a gentle smile, and the two of them walked hand in hand out of the ward. Mo Xiuchen flipped his palm and held her cool hand in his.

Upon leaving the hospital, they saw Qing Yang and Qing Feng waiting by the roadside, causing Wen Ran to freeze slightly.

Mo Xiuchen flashed a grin and explained gently, “I drove Ah Kai’s car to the police station earlier, when I was about to return, I called Qing Yang and Qing Feng to pick us up.”

In the afternoon, those who went to the airport to pick them up were Gu Kai and the others, neither Qing Yang, Qing Feng and Little Liu were needed.

On the way home, Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran sat in the back seat. He put his arm around her slender waist and held her hand. She rested lazily against him, “Ranran, if you’re tired, you can close your eyes and rest for a bit. I’ll call you once we’re home.”

There was a gentle flicker in Mo Xiuchen’s deep eyes, he gazed tenderly at Wen Ran.

Initially, when they got off the plane and heard from Gu Kai that Bai Xiaoxiao was safe, he considered letting Ranran get some food to eat first.

Yet, seeing her anxious to meet Bai Xiaoxiao, he abandoned that thought.

He knew that she wouldn’t be at peace without seeing Bai Xiaoxiao. Hence, he let her be, allowing her to be tired and hungry for a while.

Wen Ran leaned lazily against his shoulder. She was truly tired, but she didn’t want to sleep, she wanted to talk to him instead.

“Have you seen Xiao Wenqing?”

She tilted back her head, gazing at his handsome face.

“I did, she is in a pathetic state now. However, she shows no signs of regret.”

Upon mentioning Xiao Wenqing, Mo Xiuchen’s gaze darkened slightly, but he quickly returned to normal, although his voice carried a hint of chilliness.

“Let’s go visit her once more tomorrow.”

Wen Ran furrowed her brows, stating unhappily.

Mo Xiuchen’s gaze deepened slightly, “Why would you want to see her? Apart from ruining your mood, it won’t have any effects. Even if she doesn’t say anything, both the evidence held by the police and the ones I’ve collected is enough to sentence her to life imprisonment.”

“I want to vent my anger at her of course! She has hurt Xiaoxiao numerous times. To me, allowing her to be punished by the law alone doesn’t seem enough. If I see her, my first action would be to slap her face.”

A wave of anger washed over Wen Ran. Xiao Wenqing’s actions hurt those she cared about, and this made her just as mad as if she were the one being hurt.

Last time, she had almost killed Xiaoxiao. This time, she kidnapped her again.

She was forced to harm herself somehow. Thinking about it, she really wished she could have Xiao’s injuries inflicted back onto Xiao Wenqing a hundredfold.

Hearing her say this, Mo Xiuchen flashed a sexy and thin lips into a slight smirk, and said gently, “Ranran, I’ve already taken revenge for you. I slapped Xiao Wenqing and knocked out two of her teeth, ensuring her face will remain swollen for several days. I can’t allow you to dirty your hands by doing such things.”

“You hit her?”

Wen Ran’s eyes widened in surprise.

“Yes, I knew you were upset, so of course, I had to take revenge for you. You’re right, for all the things Xiao Wenqing did, just having her legally punished is too lenient, so I slapped her.”

Wen Ran looked at Mo Xiuchen’s serious eyes and couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

“Xiuchen, you did well. That evil woman Xiaoxiao deserves to be hit.”

Just picturing Xiao Wenqing being beaten brought a sense of satisfaction to Wen Ran. If they lived in ancient times, a woman as wicked as Xiao Wenqing would have been executed by waist chopping, and that still wouldn’t have been letting her off too lightly.

Mo Xiuchen also laughed, a chuckle radiated from his deep eyes like ripples on a pond, which added a soft touch to his jet-black eyes, lighting up his delicate and handsome face, making him incredibly sexy and charming.

“Alright, don’t anger yourself over Xiao Wenqing anymore. Rest for now, I’ll call you once we get home.”

“I don’t want to sleep.”

Wen Ran shook her head, smiling. She softly leaned on him and asked Qing Feng, “Qing Feng, did anything interesting or newsworthy happen at home while Xiuchen and I were away?”

Qing Feng was suddenly called out and was taken aback. After receiving a look from Mo Xiuchen, he smiled and asked, “Miss Wen, what kind of event are you referring to?”

“Anything that’s intriguing, or perhaps news-related.”

Wen Ran’s clear gaze met Qing Feng’s, causing him to hesitate. Just as he was pondering on how to answer, Mo Xiuchen beat him to it, “Ranran, Qing Feng spends all his time in the villa, so he won’t be aware of any interesting events. By the way, Qing Feng, you will be protecting Bai Xiaoxiao starting from tomorrow. Qing Yang can stay at the villa.”

“Huh?”

Qing Feng’s wide-eyed gaze of confusion met Mo Xiuchen’s.

“That’s for the best. Qing Feng, you must protect Xiaoxiao well. If anything happens to her, I will hold you accountable.”

Bringing up Bai Xiaoxiao made Wen Ran think of her kidnapping, and her emotions sank again.

“Rest assured, Miss Wen, I promise to protect Bai Xiaoxiao well. I will not let anything happen to her.”

Receiving a glance from Mo Xiuchen, Qing Feng made his guarantee solemnly.

“Xiuchen, the police have only caught Xiao Wenqing. Is there still no clue about Wu Tianyi?”

Mo Xiuchen’s eyebrows tightened, as he said in an indifferent tone, “Yes, there is still no clue about him. Xiao Wenqing only stated that she and Wu Tianyi have long separated. She acted on her own when kidnapping Xiaoxiao without discussing it with Wu Tianyi. It was due to this, Xiaoxiao was able to escape easily.”

“Yes, Xiaoxiao also said that she only saw Xiao Wenqing and not Wu Tianyi. The two men who called her sister-in-law were Wu Tianyi’s subordinates.”
