Chapter 118: Chapter 92: Starry Sea Floating Land 004_2
He never expected that the only Starry Sea Oddity on this starship would be a repairing one, exactly what Cang Qiong was currently lacking.
Although the [Healing Fruit] was not of high quality, it was far better than the nanobot repair kit, at least because it could be used repeatedly. Moreover, once its level was enhanced later on, its repair effect should also be significantly improved.
Instantly, Song Chi’s mood lifted. After directing the ten Fire Peony Soldier Figurines to return to Cang Qiong, he did not forget to unleash another blast from the main cannon, completely destroying the Second-Rank starship that was on the brink of sinking.
After acquiring another strand of First-Rank Floating Land Origin, he maneuvered Cang Qiong to continue roaming other areas of the battlefield.
Having tasted the sweet fruits of victory, Song Chi was no longer satisfied with Zero Rank and First Rank Alien Race starships. Instead, he specifically targeted Second Rank Alien Race Starships. Sinking each Second-Rank starship not only rewarded him with over ten strands of First-Rank Floating Land Origin but also a chance to obtain Starry Sea Oddities, which greatly increased his interest.
As time passed, seven hours flew by quickly. In this time, Song Chi had sunk no less than ten Second-Rank Alien Race Starships, netting nearly two hundred strands of First-Rank Floating Land Origin.
However, the bad news was that not every one of those ten-plus Second-Rank Alien Race Starships had a Starry Sea Oddity on board. Including the Healing Fruit he obtained at first, Song Chi had managed to secure only three white Strange Objects.
Aside from the Healing Fruit, the other two were the same [Starry-Level Main Cannons]. The key was that both were main cannon components, not secondary ones, which Song Chi did not need.
At the edge of the Stellar Battlefield, after nearly eight hours of wandering, Cang Qiong had unknowingly moved from the center of the battlefield to this peripheral area.
In the airship’s Main Control Room, Song Chi rubbed his brow.
Eight consecutive hours of intense concentration, coupled with the earlier limit-breaking state, had exhausted him spiritually.
As he slightly relaxed his mind, his gaze kept shifting as he began to ponder his next course of action.
He had three subsequent action plans to choose from at the moment.
First, to continue harvesting starships in this battlefield to accumulate Floating Land Origin.
Second, to leave this interstellar battlefield, find a deserted corner to enter the Ruins Market, and then use the Spatial Anchor Point feature of the Ruins Market to head to the Star Domain where the Buluo Civilization Ruins are located. He could use the remaining ten-plus hours to try and break through the Spatial Veil of the second layer of the ruins.
Third, which was an episode that had occurred earlier; an hour after Cang Qiong reached the battleground below, the “Star Chart Collector” feature of the [Sky Eye Patrol Radar] officially activated, providing a detailed Star Chart of the nearly three light-years around. Within this Star Chart, there happened to be a Life-Form Star Sea Floating Land of the Starshine Civilization. He could leave the battlefield first and then use the Purple River Translocation Device to head to that Life-Form Floating Land.
After a thorough analysis and comparison of these three options, Song Chi finally chose the third one.
The reason was simple; he had ruled out the first two options one after the other.
The downside of the first option was that after eight hours of Cang Qiong’s roaming hunt, the Second Rank starships in the battlefield had almost all been sunk. The First Rank starships, after such a long-duration battle, were now less than a thousand, with the rest being Zero Rank starships.
Thus, even if Song Chi were to sink all the Alien Race Starships in the battlefield subsequently, the Floating Land Origin he could harvest would at most reach a thousand strands, and that would be of the Zero Rank, which was not significant.
As for the second option, Cang Qiong’s weapon components had not been replaced yet, so even if he broke through the second layer of the Spatial Veil of the ruins, he would not be able to cope with the tens of thousands of Insect Race that might appear. Furthermore, he would have no chance to destroy the Crystal Box in the third layer of space and acquire the Starry Sea Oddity locked inside.
Compared to these two options, a completely new Life-Form Star Sea Floating Land of the Starshine Civilization, even if its resources had been long exhausted, was far more attractive.
Having made up his mind, Song Chi no longer lingered and piloted the Cangqiong swiftly toward the periphery of the battle zone. According to the star chart collected by the Heaven’s Eye Sky-Scanning Radar, that life-form type Floating Land was more than 2 light-years away from the current battlefield. To arrive quickly, a Starry Sea translocation was necessary.
However, each translocation in the Starry Sea required a considerable charging time and was very prone to interruption; naturally, it couldn’t be performed near the battle zone.
Minutes later, having traveled a sufficient distance, the Cangqiong came to a halt and began the formal charging process for the Starry Sea translocation.
During the charging period, Song Chi’s gaze continuously scanned the several star charts floating before him.
The star chart in the middle was generated by the Heaven’s Eye Sky-Scanning Radar, while the other three were found on the destroyed Starshine Civilization starships. These three charts covered a significantly broader area than the one produced by the radar, encompassing the entire domain of the Starshine Civilization, which extended over hundreds of light-years.
What made Song Chi even more covetous was that all three charts marked the existence of a Second-Rank Starry Sea Floating Land, fully demonstrating that a Second-Rank Life-Form Floating Land was under the control of the Starshine Civilization.
A Second-Rank Starry Sea Floating Land, also a life-form type Starry Sea Oddity, not only vastly exceeded the area of a First-Rank Floating Land, capable of hosting more carbon-based life but, most critically, could produce First-Rank Floating Land Origin regularly and had a chance to produce Second-Rank Floating Land Origin. It was far from comparable to the likes of the White Tower Floating Land, which was merely First-Rank.
Unfortunately, each of the three charts had significant differences, with the coordinates of the Second-Rank Floating Lands on each being distinctly apart; clearly, the Alien Race had deliberately meddled with them. This foiled Song Chi’s desire to directly translocate to the vicinity of the Second-Rank Floating Land.
He had certainly thought of solutions, such as searching for unaltered star charts on Zero and First Rank Starshine Civilization starships. However, apart from Second-Rank starships, the charts on other vessels were only partial and didn’t mark the coordinates of any Starry Sea Floating Lands.
He even went so far as to command the Fire Peony Soldier Figurines to capture several Second-Rank aliens, but the language barrier was insurmountable, and not even the Starry Sea Universal Translator was of any use.
“Never mind, it seems I can only go and check around this Floating Land!”
With a sigh, Song Chi deleted all three star charts, no longer dwelling on the matter, and shifted his entire focus to the star chart generated by the Heaven’s Eye Sky-Scanning Radar.
At present, the only tangible and attainable information he had was this radar-generated chart. As for the rest, he could only hope for other opportunities in the future.
However, Song Chi felt the chances were slim, given that the Purple River Translocation Device required 12 hours of buffer time after each use. By that time, there wouldn’t be many hours left before Cangqiong had to return.
In the waiting, the charging time for the Purple River Translocation Device gradually approached. As intense spatial fluctuations echoed through this remote star region, the previously silent Cangqiong suddenly vanished, plunging straight into the space vortex a few dozen meters in diameter ahead.
…
In the Starshine Civilization’s Third Star Region, Floating Land No. 004.
As the stronghold of the Starshine Civilization’s liberal faction, Floating Land No. 004 had a very high level of defense. It was not only under the permanent protection of the Second Freedom Fleet but also had a full-strength Floating Land defense force.
For this reason, Floating Land No. 004 had remained unattacked by hostile factions for over a hundred years. Today, however, the urgent alarms enveloping the entire Floating Land shattered that peace.
Outside the Floating Land, before the Second Freedom Fleet could issue a fleet-wide alert, they were already subjected to a fierce attack.
Under the scorching beams of particle light, several Second-Rank starships docked on the periphery of the base were pierced through, leaving the main control rooms filled with casualties.
In the distance, the Cangqiong, having reactivated its Dark Matter Energy Shields, emerged into view.
