Chapter 537: Round of Sixteen 3
Junhyuk watched the fight between Gongon and the ice golem. Gongon was fighting while transformed, but the thing that astonished Junhyuk was that the golem wasn’t being pushed around.
They were rather equally matched.
Junhyuk had only considered Abel strong in their team, but he realized that the ice golem was strong as well.
The ice golem was a tank, but its attack stat was also high, and Gongon wasn’t overwhelming it. Gongon was winning by a small margin, but the ice golem hadn’t used its ultimate yet.
“Do you want help?” Junhyuk shouted.
“I don’t need it!” Gongon shouted back, keeping its distance while targeting the ice golem. However, the golem wasn’t feeling any pressure. It kept trying to close in and attack.
Finally, the golem’s cooldown ended, so the golem rushed at Gongon, who was launched into the air. The hatchling was facing serious problems.
Gongon had 30 percent of his health left, while the ice golem had 28 percent left. Either of them could die at any moment.
Junhyuk didn’t want to see Gongon die. At that moment, Gongon returned to his original size. There was no way for him to fight from long range, so he returned to close range combat.
Gongon headbutted the ice golem, who was thrown back, and Junhyuk accelerated. The state of their fight meant that either could die, so Junhyuk encased Gongon in his force field.
The ice golem inhaled deeply then and blew across the ground long and hard. Everything around the ice golem was frozen, and it didn’t look like a simple ice breath. Gongon was nearly frozen, but the hatchling had the force field covering him.
Everything had turned to ice within a certain radius, and Junhyuk had no idea of what kind of damage that ice breath could deal. The ice golem looked at him, and Gongon breathed fire toward it.
Finally, the ice golem fell. Gongon turned to Junhyuk then.
“Sorry. It looked dangerous,” Junhyuk said.
Gongon picked up the item dropped by the ice golem and smiled at him.
“This looks expensive. THanks. Honestly, I was in danger.”
Gongon was being realistic.
“So, what I did was fine?”
“Of course. Did you want me to get killed?”
“No.”
“So, it’s fine. Let’s destroy the tower now.”
They destroyed the enemy watchtower, and Junhyuk contacted Sarang. She had rendezvous with Elise and easily killed the enemy heroes. The enemies had been unknown to them, but they were nothing to worry about.
“Then, the strong ones are the ice golem and Abel?”
Abel’s attack stat was outstanding. Considering the damage he had received, he realized the attack might’ve been fatal if his defense was lower. The 300 percent damage attack had a 20 percent chance to trigger, but it was still very dangerous.
The ice golem could stand up to Gongon. It did not have a taunt, but it was still very powerful. The golem was well balanced in damage and defense, and it was the strongest enemy hero they had faced so far.
Since the ice golem could go up against Gongon, with the exception of Junhyuk, the golem would be stronger than any individual ally. It probably had the best items out of the enemies as well.
Junhyuk had to watch out for those two during team battles.
Gyulsean seemed to have obtained some nice items, but she had dropped a crappy one. Abel had focused on upgrading his weapons, so all of his items were cheap, perhaps the cheapest.
Junhyuk turned to Gongon and said, “We’ll move to the middle and hunt buff monsters. What about you?”
“We can’t push to the second tower anyway. I’ll take a different route and hunt for the other buff monsters. We should try to get as many synthesis materials as possible before the final round.”
Both Gongon and Junhyuk headed to the middle. There, they split and went buff monster hunting. The Mantis Lord wouldn’t be able to kill Gongon, so Junhyuk took off for the Ghost White Tiger first.
He killed the Ghost White Tiger but failed to acquire a synthesis material. Then, he roamed around and met the Mantis Lord.
Junhyuk enjoyed fighting the Mantis Lord. He fought without using his powers, so the Mantis Lord enraged. Because he was being restricted, Junhyuk enjoyed fighting a stronger enemy.
He had Harmonizer now, and the Triple Yin Yang had improved. Because of that, he remained calm while fighting the enraged Mantis Lord. Harmonizer was being restricted in the Dimensional Battlefield, but his swordsmanship had improved all the same.
The Mantis Lord enraged a second time, and Junhyuk endured those attacks. However, he was only able to endure. All of his counterattacks failed with the Mantis Lord that way.
Satisfied with his performance, Junhyuk used his Spatial Slash and Spatial Collapse, killing the Mantis Lord. The monster did not drop any items.
Junhyuk headed back to the middle while looking for enemy heroes. Everyone else was hunting buff monsters, but he did not spot any enemies. He sped up by teleporting to the buff tower.
He saw the enemy heroes climbing up the mountain path. They hadn’t reached the top, and Junhyuk had the impression that the allies would gather at about the same time as the enemies reached the top.
If a team battle ensued in the middle, the winner could push on to the second watchtower. With the buff from the buff tower, the winner could move even faster.
Junhyuk waited until the allies gathered. He asked about synthesis materials, but none had dropped.
Clapping his hands together, Junhyuk said, “Too bad, but the battle goes on. We’ll try to get materials next time. Now, it’s time for a team battle.”
They had five heroes and a champion, along with 534 minions who could push down the middle path to destroy the enemy tower. The enemies were only bringing 200 minions with them.
Junhyuk noticed two new enemy heroes. One had bat wings instead of arms, along with a long tail. The other looked like a dinosaur. It was three meters tall, too small for a tank, but too tall for a sniper.
“What are their powers?”
“The one with the wings is Kalgashu. The hero has a power that makes use of the wings to generate a gust and a soundwave scream attack. The tail can stretch to twenty meters. Normally, Kalgashu attacks with the tail to try to tie you up.”
“The ultimate?”
“We killed him before that. We didn’t have a tank, so we didn’t want to get hit.”
An ultimate that could kill in a single hit was rare. On top of that, Sarang had her invincibility, but she didn’t think that far. Still, it was true that she shouldn’t get hit. Some heroes were really powerful, and it wasn’t impossible for her to die.
“And that tyrannosaur-looking guy is called Sauro. He has a long range firebreath.”
Sauro was nearly as big as a tank, but he was actually a long range attacker. That was funny.
“Powers?”
“He can use fire rings to constrict the enemy.”
“That can be annoying.”
Junhyuk looked at the enemy heroes. Even without a tank’s taunt, they could be complicated. He decided to kill Abel and Gyulsean. With his force field, he would be able to kill another. So, the goal was to kill three enemy heroes.
“I’ll take Abel and Gyulsean down.”
“If you kill two of them, we’ll win for sure.”
“I’ll trigger my force field after killing those two. If I get injured, heal me first, Sarang.”
“Sure.”
Junhyuk ran ahead.
“Attack!” Gongon shouted, and the minions went berserk.
The ice golem stepped forward then. Junhyuk wanted to check on the enemy’s defense, but he did not want to waste time.
Layla, who was following behind him, said, “I’ll deal with it.”
“Be careful. The golem is strong.”
Layla smirked and flashed past him. She headed straight for the golem, and the golem ran toward her.
Boom!
Layla slashed the golem, launching it into the air. The golem rushed at her, but Layla was already up in the air as well.
The other enemy heroes started attacking.
Sauro attacked him first from a shockingly long range. The attack reached over seventy meters, and it could actually be the attack with the longest range between the heroes.
Junhyuk teleported to dodge the attack and used his Spatial Slash right after. He targeted Abel. Because his Spatial Slash was now a Dimensional Slash, his enemies couldn’t sense it anymore.
Unable to do anything about it, Abel died. Junhyuk tried to trigger a Spatial Collapse on Gyulsean, but she had released a stamped toward him.
Junhyuk couldn’t dodge the translucent horsemen and he knew it. Thinking he had enough health to tank the attack, he triggered the Spatial Collapse all the same.
Craaack!
His ultimate pulled the horsemen, but Junhyuk still received damage from the attack. After getting kicked around, he checked his health. He had lost 30 percent of his health to Gyulsean’s ultimate, a shocking amount of damage.
Gyulsean was dead now. Junhyuk had killed the two, but suddenly, an icy wind swept from behind him. It was the ice golem’s ultimate.
Junhyuk clicked his tongue. He was frozen, and there was nothing he could do about it.
