Chapter 425: Chapter 425: The Plan is Underway
“You really know how to plan. Even a level up turns into a big deal in your hands.” Sister Li exclaimed. If Li Yao’s plan succeeded, it would be a great accomplishment and a significant help to Starfire Guild.
Li Yao couldn’t say that he had planned all this just to find this ragged prince.
By coincidence, a player from the Leisure Guild was also targeting this creature.
This Frogman Prince was very famous back in the day and had been wandering by the sea for two years.
Players around level twenty had all attempted to kill this Frogman Prince, but they all ended up in the same situation as the Leisure Guild.
The boss that they killed in front of their eyes didn’t give any experience or announcement, nor did it drop any loot.
This boss became the most useless and least popular foe, with many players choosing to ignore him completely. This issue even attracted some attention on the forum, but no one was able to decipher the cause.
Later on, with the opening of the ocean and the reputation of the Tidal Frogmen, a wise and non-aggressive race, all three factions decided to cooperate with them.
Then, the Tidal Frogmen posted a quest to find the Frogman Prince.
After a long time, a player equipped with special eye gear accidentally discovered that the Sea Giants were merely in disguise.
The truth was thus revealed. The player then went on to help the prince establish a tribe. As a result, the players and their guilds received many benefits.
That’s what Li Yao wanted, as cooperating with the Frogmen would indeed offer many advantages.
“If we succeed, would it be considered unlocking a new race’s reputation?” Sister Li asked.
Li Yao replied, “I guess so. We’ll see what benefits there are at the time, but just the far-off supplies will be enough to boost our guild.”
Sister Li nodded. The blueprint that Li Yao had drawn for the guild’s base was ambitious. A racetrack, a port, a main city, each one wasn’t easy to achieve.
Especially building a main city, it was simply audacious. If they leaked this news, it would be earth-shattering, and the Starfire Guild would become a laughingstock.
“According to the map provided by the prince, we should be in the Tidal Frogmen territory soon,” Sister Li said, examining the map.
With the Sealing Sea Pearl, they didn’t have to worry about the pressure of the seawater. Otherwise, they couldn’t dive so deep just with the Breathing Potions. The pressure alone would be challenging for most races.
“Yeah, it should be here.” They looked down to see a shabby village built with large stones and huge shells.
Quite a few Frogmen lived there, plus several Poison Arrow Frogs in the surrounding areas.
Poison Arrow Frogs are a staple in the lives of Frogmen, who can communicate with them easily.
The Frogmen are a strange race. Not all their eggs hatch into highly intelligent Frogmen; most become Poison Arrow Frogs.
The stronger and more noble the Frogman, the harder it is to reproduce real offspring.
Under normal circumstances, the Poison Arrow Frogs would grow up alongside the Frogmen. They share a relationship similar to both siblings and pets.
These Poison Arrow Frogs differ from pure ones. They have some wisdom, so they often become battle partners for Frogmen, creating a close bond.
“Let’s make some noise first.” Li Yao descended to the sea floor.
This wasn’t considered the deep sea. It was not barren but not abundant either. There were plenty of fish, shrimp, and crabs, and plenty of shells could be seen.
But Li Yao had no interest in pearls because if he formed an alliance with the Frogmen, these items wouldn’t be scarce, so it wasn’t worth it to waste time.
Li Yao released the hydra. The hydra, a creature of the Abyss, adapted well to the water and underwent some changes.
On land, the hydra resembled a dragon, but in the sea, its scales seemed delicate and smooth.
Its body became larger, and its neck extended by at least half, turning into a real monster.
This was the first time Li Yao had seen such a transformation in the sea, and he was startled.
“What’s happening?” Sister Li asked.
The Frost Snake replied, “Master, don’t be surprised. This is our form in the water, which allows us to fight better and adapt to underwater combat.”
“Alright, cut the chatter. Wipe out the group of Frogmen and Poison Arrow Frogs up ahead,” Li Yao ordered.
“As you wish, master.”
The hydra was much faster in the water than on land. Its emergence quickly caught the attention of the Frogmen.
However, they didn’t dare to provoke it. Only when they saw the hydra rush toward them did they have to fight back. Given their proximity, they had no chance of outrunning the hydra, especially with their tribe nearby, they couldn’t run away.
The small squad had fewer than ten Frogmen, all at least 1-star elites, with a Silver Elite leading. Around each Frogman were at least three or four Poison Arrow Frogs.
One of the faster Frogmen went to find reinforcements, showing the difficulty of dealing with intelligent monsters.
For instance, typical beasts could be defeated one by one, but such intelligent creatures were impossible to handle that way.
Creatures with organization and tribes did not rely on single combat. They were typically coordinated by a leader, and they wouldn’t stubbornly hold their ground against a strong enemy, allowing themselves to be gradually wiped out.
Li Yao and Sister Li also stepped in to help. After all, there were too many monsters, and the hydra could not cope with them all.
Li Yao and Sister Li concentrated on killing the Frogman Shamans that had healing abilities.
Li Yao released the Arrow Tower, which was not bad, but the turret wouldn’t work. Fire couldn’t be ignited underwater.
In Ancient God, geographical restrictions were quite strict. For instance, underwater, fire magic was basically useless, and even strong fire magic could only be employed at a discount.
“Their reinforcements are coming. I think I should call Tong Tong over, our damage output is a bit low,” Sister Li said.
“Didn’t the PvP tire her out?” Li Yao originally intended to bring Tong Tong along. But Tong Tong spent the night playing PvP to achieve fifty wins and was exhausted. When they set off, Sister Li said Tong was still sleeping.
“She’s awake now. When she heard we were leveling up together, she wanted to join,” Sister Li replied, her eyes full of affection.
“Alright, then you summon her over,” Li Yao said.
Sister Li nodded and used the special effect of her ring, which could summon the player wearing the other ring to her side.
This was originally a pair of lover’s rings. Sister Li got it unintentionally from a treasure box and gave the other one to Tong Tong.
“You two are so bad, leveling up without me. Thankfully, I have the ring. You didn’t get your way, hmph.” Tong Tong was not pleased at all.
Li Yao quickly gave her a breathing potion and released a Pressure-Resistant Scroll. Right after being teleported, there was a protective shield that lasted for about twenty seconds when entering the seabed…
