Chapter 450: 450, Betrayal Act
At that moment, she couldn’t help herself, and she didn’t want to either. Some words just slipped out of her mouth, unintentionally hurting him. She admitted she was wrong, but was he truly blameless?
He clearly knew that she despised Tian Ye and that he had taken advantage of him in the past, so why did he allow the woman to get so close to him?
Xiao Yebai checked the time, “What do you want to hear?”
The man’s apparent indifference and resistance left Mo Weiyi looking paler by the second.
“What do I want to hear?” She scoffed coldly, her tone laced with a hint of mockery, “You tell me, what do I want to hear?”
“What you want to hear, is it my explanation, or something to put your mind at ease?” Xiao Yebai looked up from behind his glasses, the look in his eyes revealing a clear wave of emotion.
It was very much like impatience.
Mo Weiyi felt her eyes well up with tears, her voice trembling as she rebuffed him, “Once you’ve explained, I will be able to put it to rest. I am not a mind reader! You keep silent and I have no idea what’s on your mind! Are you really involved with her, or is it just a coincidence? I want to hear the truth.”
“Alright.” Xiao Yebai’s voice was as calm as ever, “I drank too much at the social event yesterday and felt unwell. She happened to be at the same restaurant, so she gave me a ride back to the office. When I went in to change, you arrived. That’s all.”
Mo Weiyi: “…”
Is that it?
Is it that simple?
“Then why did she have your overcoat?” She quickly posed another question.
Xiao Yebai looked at her, his lips pulling into a faint smile, “You can throw that overcoat away.”
Mo Weiyi was taken aback.
“Any other questions?” Xiao Yebai glanced at his wristwatch, “I have an important meeting at nine. If there aren’t any more, I’m heading to the office.”
Mo Weiyi watched him, then abruptly turned around, presenting her back to him without uttering a word.
An icy silence filled the room behind her.
After a while, the sound of footsteps faded, gradually disappearing until the room fell quiet once more.
Mo Weiyi remained standing in the same position.
She didn’t know how much time had passed until a gust of cold wind blew in from the open French windows. She shivered and snapped back to reality, moving towards the closet.

Meanwhile, at the Imperial Court villa.
Su Wanwan was in a daze from sleep when she suddenly raised her hand to slap someone.
With a loud ‘smack.’
Resonant and crisp.
“Bastard!”
“Baby, who are you calling a bastard, hm?”
Su Wanwan shook awake, her eyes wide open. She looked around, her little face filled with confusion, “What are you doing here? Where’s Weiyi?”
“She went home,” Huo Jingshen replied.
Su Wanwan was at a loss for words, “Why did she go home? What time is it now?”
She painfully pushed him away, turned around, and looked at the alarm clock on the bedside table.
Eight-thirty?
She went home this early?
Didn’t Mo Xiaose get drunk last night?
And why didn’t she wake her up when she left?
When she turned her gaze back, she suddenly noticed a bag and clothes on the sofa.
Su Wanwan blinked twice, as if suddenly realizing something. She extended her hand and growled through clenched teeth, “You bastard! What the hell happened?”
Huo Jingshen narrowed his eyes, clearly displeased by the repeated interruptions.
“Speak up!” Su Wanwan was fuming, lifting her little foot to kick him, though she was quickly restrained.
Huo Jingshen lowered his voice, “Her husband came by last night and took her away.”
“What!” Su Wanwan shouted in surprise, nearly screeching, “Why did you let that jerk in? You even let him take Weiyi away? Are you even human? Do you have any humanity left?”
As she spoke, she stretched out her little paw to scratch, claw at him, pinch him.
She was really going to be killed by this incompetent teammate!
He actually let that scum in while she was asleep and even allowed Mo Weiyi to be taken away. He was simply inhuman!
His hands were quickly grabbed and pressed upwards. Huo Jingshen’s strikingly angular and handsome face confronted hers in close proximity, with his deep penetrating eyes staring directly into her agitated ones, “Do I lack humanity?”
Su Wanwan: “…”
Last night, after the two interlopers had left, the little girl was fast asleep. Considering her recent hard work in her studies, he had suppressed any urge to disturb her.
And now, it was still early, and he remembered her schedule had no morning classes today.
…
Downstairs in the restaurant.
Enraged, Su Wanwan fiercely stuffed a roasted sausage into her mouth.
The man across from her was impeccably dressed, expressing complete contentment. His radiant demeanor was simply indescribable. He even kindly reminded her, “Eat slowly, no one is fighting you for it.”
Barely had he uttered these words when Su Wanwan bit down hard on another large piece, chewing ferociously.
Huo Jingshen’s eyes dimmed even further.
Then, he cleared his throat and diverted his gaze.
Did this girl understand what she was doing?
…
After the meal, Huo Jingshen drove her to school.
Upon reaching the school entrance, Su Wanwan got her things from Mo Weiyi, then turned around to face Huo Jingshen, “To punish you for your betrayal last night, I won’t come home prior to exams! Humph!”
Having said this, she quickly got out of the car and left.
Huo Jingshen: “…”

Su Wanwan was really mad, and immediately called Mo Weiyi just as she arrived at the classroom.
Remarkably, that girl did not show up at the school.
Su Wanwan asked her, “Don’t you have an English class today?”
“Don’t feel like going.”
“But exams are soon, aren’t you meant to rank within the top 10 students in your class?”
“Don’t feel like doing that.”
Su Wanwan felt that something was wrong with her. Her tone was subdued, as if she had been dealt a heavy blow.
“Did Xiaobai do something to you? After he took you home, he didn’t touch you, did he?”
Mo Weiyi remained silent.
Su Wanwan immediately retorted, “This is all my fault. I was so tired last night that I fell into an incredibly deep sleep. I had no idea my husband had brought someone in. But don’t worry, I’ve already taught him a good lesson!”
Although afterwards, she was severely bullied by him…cough, cough, cough.
“Wanwan, I’m really tired.”
Hearing that, Su Wanwan quickly responded, “If you’re tired, don’t come in today. You had a lot of alcohol last night, so it’s okay to rest today…”
“It’s not that.” Mo Weiyi’s voice was low and pessimistic, lacking her usual exuberance and energy.
She asked, “Why is it that whenever there’s a conflict, I’m always the one who sooth things over? Why can’t he make an effort to coax me? Wanwan, I’m really tired.”
Su Wanwan frowned, “What on earth happened yesterday afternoon?”
Mo Weiyi then narrated her encounter with Tian Ye in the office, including how she pressed for an explanation.
Wanwan asked, “So did you believe his explanation?”
“I did.”
“Huh.” Su Wenwen didn’t understand, “So what are you hung up about?”
Mo Weiyi explained, “He didn’t offer the explanation voluntarily. I had to force it out of him, and moreover…”
Xiao Yebai spoke to her with an air of impatience.
Mo Weiyi admitted that she felt a chill in her heart.
She was his wife. When he was misunderstood to have an affair with another woman, shouldn’t he, as a husband, have promptly made an effort to explain of his own accord?
Not only did he fail to explain, she had to pry it out of him. And even then, he spoke with such impatience…
“So, what do you plan to do now?” Su Wenwen asked again.
Mo Weiyi honestly said, “I don’t know.”
