Chapter 28: Chapter 28 Candlelight Dinner
 

Lin Yi was of course very happy after being encouraged by his wife, and with joy in his heart, he laughed and said, “Alright, alright! I’ve heard you say it so many times. Let’s dig in!”

Han Xuewei looked at the table full of delicious dishes and couldn’t wait either, after all, who could resist such a lavish feast!

She really couldn’t control her appetite anymore!

The two of them didn’t exchange another word and started eating!

Han Xuewei tasted each dish and couldn’t stop praising them, not even taking time to talk.

After enjoying their meal and wine, Han Xuewei gathered all the bowls and chopsticks, ready to wash them, but Lin Yi quickly interjected, “Wife! How can you do such chores? You are pregnant now! Which husband in the world would sit idly by and watch their wife, with a big belly, do the dishes!”

“Be good! Listen to me. Now, all you need to do each day is rest, and leave the rest to your husband!”

While they were talking, Lin Yi pushed Han Xuewei in front of the TV and onto the couch, and even peeled an orange for her.

It had to be said, Han Xuewei was really being spoiled like a pampered little wife!

Her heart was incredibly excited. She couldn’t help but gaze at the matching couple’s slippers they both wore!

The scene looked incredibly lovely!

It was in this moment that Han Xuewei’s happiness soared through the roof! She felt like the happiest person in the world!

As she thought about this, Han Xuewei’s tears almost spilled over!

It felt like every day with Lin Yi brought different surprises!

She knew how lucky she was to have a man like this in marriage—what happiness!

There were too many husbands who neglected their families after marriage, not willing to even do household chores, let alone cook a good meal like Lin Yi!

Just as Lin Yi had settled Han Xuewei on the couch, the system in his mind chimed in again!

“Ding! Congratulations to the host! By pampering your wife and increasing her happiness, you have successfully earned a reward of two hundred thousand!”

As soon as the voice ended, the mobile phone in his pocket vibrated twice.

Good gracious!!!

Is this even possible? A reward just for increasing my wife’s happiness?

So this is how it works! Alright, I’m beginning to get familiar with this system inside of me!

The next morning, Lin Yi gave up the chance to sleep in and climbed out of bed with enthusiasm!

After a simple wash, he started preparing a loving breakfast in the kitchen.

Only after he finished, did he go to the bedroom and wake Han Xuewei, and by then it was already half past eight.

From the parenting knowledge he had crammed, he knew that it was best for expectant mothers to have breakfast before nine o’clock, which is beneficial for both the pregnant woman and the fetus.

So he purposely set the time, waking Han Xuewei at half past eight.

But before he could enter Han Xuewei’s bedroom, she herself pushed the door open.

Perhaps it was because she drank too much lemon water yesterday and went to bed quite early, so she naturally woke up early in the morning and went to the bathroom.

The couple exchanged glances at the bedroom door and both laughed.

At first, Han Xuewei always avoided going to the bathroom in front of her husband. Though they were married, there was still a bit of unfamiliarity, and some things should be approached with caution.

But after so many days of affectionate togetherness, their relationship had grown stronger by the day, practically becoming inseparable. Thus, Han Xuewei didn’t mind going bare-faced and encountering her husband face-to-face.

After a quick freshening up, the two of them sat down together at the dining table for breakfast. As soon as they finished eating, Lin Yi’s mobile vibrated once more, notifying him that he had received a reward for doting on his wife!

Lin Yi couldn’t have been happier. Taking care of his wife was naturally his duty, yet now he was being rewarded for doing what should be done—it couldn’t get any better!

“Dear wife, it seems we don’t have other plans today, why don’t we go choose a car?” Lin Yi asked softly.

“But I can’t give you any good advice. I don’t know much about cars, I can’t even recognize the models…” Han Xuewei hesitated.

“No problem, as long as you think the interior is nice and it’s comfortable to sit in, let’s buy it! We’re not short on money!”

Hearing this, Han Xuewei laughed and teased, “Listen to you, buy it if it’s comfortable? We don’t even know if we have enough money. What if I pick one that costs tens of millions? What then?”

“Look at what you’re saying. Of course, we’ll buy it! As long as my wife likes it, we must have it! If really necessary, we can just take out a loan!” Lin Yi said generously.

Worth tens of millions? If his wife liked it, then he must buy it, especially since he could afford it!

“A loan? That won’t do. I’ve heard that the interest on car loans is extremely high,” Han Xuewei said as she shook her head repeatedly. She knew that Lin Yi’s family was wealthy, but money still needed to be saved.

“I’ll accompany you to pick a car today! We don’t need to buy anything too expensive, something economical will do. We’re only going to use it for transportation, so we don’t have high requirements, how does that sound?”

She wasn’t aware of how much her husband had in savings, but then again, they were both university students and buying their house must have cost a lot. Not to mention, his family’s business wasn’t doing well, so they wouldn’t have much saved.

The sensible Han Xuewei naturally didn’t have high demands for a car.

In her view, a car was merely a means of transportation; excessive luxury served no benefit. Practicality and comfort were sufficient.

Lin Yi smiled slightly upon hearing this and then said, “I’ll listen to my wife, so I wanted to take you with me to help me decide, to consider your opinion! Otherwise, I might get carried away and buy something too expensive, which wouldn’t be good.”

“After much consideration, I plan to buy three cars at once, one for the two of us, one with more space for the nanny, and the last one as a dedicated shopping car for Aunt Wang. Considering this, the budget should be a few million, right?”

“That much? Hubby, three cars would need at least two million, right? You’ve made such a huge budget? I really think you are so good at making money!”

Han Xuewei was genuinely surprised after hearing this. How could an average family just decide to pick up cars on the spur of the moment? Especially three at once!

Buying a car isn’t a trivial matter; routine maintenance and various insurances are significant expenses.

This is about three cars! The monthly expenses could easily run into several thousand yuan!

And Lin Yi had actually prepared such a large budget to buy cars? Han Xuewei was also puzzled, wondering how much would be left after purchasing the cars.

If all the money was used up in the beginning, it wouldn’t be easy to raise a child!
