The Truth of the Eight Regions
Shi Hao’s pupils constricted. He sat behind the red sandalwood table, quietly looking at her. Just what kind of secrets was she going to reveal?
Fairy Yue Chan’s had an indescribable charm. She gathered her beautiful hair and said, “If you hear this, you might be shocked.”
“What haven’t I experienced before? Just say it.” Shi Hao said.
“You might have heard that the wasteland region is a place of exile, but that’s not entirely true. It’s just the tip of the iceberg,” Fairy Yue Chan said softly. Through the sealed private room’s clear splendor, she gazed outside the window. Her eyes were a bit distant.
“Speak!” Shi Hao said indifferently.
“You feel that the eight regions are boundless like an Immeasurable Great World, right?” Yue Chan turned around, looking at him.
“Isn’t that the case?” Shi Hao asked in reply.
Yue Chan shook her head. She was calm and auspicious as she said, “If I told you that they’re only eight prisons, would you believe me?”
Shi Hao sat there without moving, but his eyes already released astonishing radiance, illuminating the entire private room. This news was just too shocking. It was difficult for others to accept.
“Hard to accept, right? This is the truth,” Yue Chan said softly. After that, she finished the fine wine in the luminous cup before placing it on the table.
Shi Hao was silent. This news was enough to shock the world. Was it true? He was greatly affected and couldn’t believe his ears.
The eight regions were a vast place, yet there were only eight prisons. Who did that? That was just too much!
In that instant, he thought of too many things. All types of information appeared in his mind, but he still found it hard to believe.
“Do you have doubts?” Fairy Yue Chan asked. When she saw that he didn’t say anything, she spoke again, “This enormous world is boundless, yet it’s only eight cages. This will indeed make others suspicious.”
Shi Hao didn’t say anything and tried to make his own judgment. In the past, when he met the witch, he had heard a few secrets from her, but it was far from being this thorough.
After thinking about it carefully, Shi Hao was still shocked, but he began to believe it a bit. Even if Fairy Yue Chan had ulterior motives, there was no need to deceive him with this type of thing.
“You don’t believe me?” Fairy Yue Chan asked.
Shi Hao didn’t say anything but only looked at her, his gaze a bit intimidating. Symbols appeared in the void, rumbling with noise. Such momentum would move with Shi Hao’s mood, ready to descend at any time.
“Anyone who hears it for the first time will find it hard to accept. However, if you want to take action against me, do you think you can succeed in one strike?” Fairy Yue Chan smiled. She was extremely calm, feeling like Shi Hao was going to make things difficult for her.
“So what if there are eight prisons? I grew up here, so who can call me a prisoner?!” Shi Hao sat there, his tone carrying a wave of killing intent.
“Through the eight prisons, you can imagine just how vast and wonderful the world is. Are you willing to spend your entire life in prison?” Fairy Yue Chan asked.
If an ordinary person heard this type of news, they would definitely feel dejected. There were eight vast regions. Many heroes would find it difficult to travel through a region in their entire lives, yet in the end, they were told that there were eight cages.
That was simply a tremendous mockery that would make people furious!
Even supreme experts would be furious and yell at the sky if they heard this. Why? Ever since they were born, no creatures in the eight regions would have thought that they would become offsprings of prisoners.
Ever since they were born in the eight regions, they were branded. They were no longer free but had become prisoners because they were children of sinners.
“According to what you said, you’re also in this prison.” Shi Hao stared at her, then said sternly, “As a member of the eight regions, you’re helping the upper realms. You’re a traitor!”
“Brother Shi, that’s a serious accusation that I can’t accept.” Fairy Yue Chan shook her head, but she wasn’t angry and was still smiling.
“Any living creature in a prison has the right to get free and escape. Is that shameful?” Fairy Yue Chan asked.
“Does that mean you can side with the upper realms?” Shi Hao asked coldly.
“The so-called sinners are the vicious creatures who have made serious mistakes, which is why they’re imprisoned here. The upper realms control the light and make the judgment. If the creatures here repent and are approved, they’ll be free. What’s wrong with that? Do they have to die in this prison of old age?” Yue Chan retorted.
“Am I guilty? Even if the eight prisons you talk about are real, it’s because of some mistakes my ancestors made. Moreover, my ancestors might not have done anything. The truth is long lost. What does it have anything to do with me? Why are the offsprings punished, one generation after another?” She Hao’s face darkened.
He couldn’t suppress his rage. The land he had grown up on turned out to be a land of sin, and he was branded as a child of sinners. That didn’t make sense!
He wished he could break the barrier and turn the upper realms upside down.
Of course, he didn’t agree with what Yue Chan said. The prisoners and sinners were all nonsense. He grew up in the wasteland region, and he wasn’t ashamed of it.
“I see you’re angry and can’t control your emotions. I know you won’t listen to me,” Fairy Yue Chan sighed and frowned. “So what if you feel indignant? You might as well break free and find out the truth?”
“Shut up!” Shi Hao shouted. With a rumble, light shone from above. It looked like a miraculous cloud with various colors, moving toward Fairy Yue Chan, trying to suppress her.
Yue Chan wasn’t surprised. Dazzling light came out of her, turning into symbols to resist the light. She then moved away from him.
Boom!
Around Shi Hao, ten Heavenly Passages emerged. He was going to activate a field, sealing this place to freeze everything.
Fairy Yue Chan said, “I’ve also made some cultivation achievements. You can’t keep me here like this. This battle won’t happen any time soon, so there’s no point.”
“As a member of the eight regions, you’re an offspring of the sinners. Are you proud of yourself for siding with the upper realms to go after the creatures here?” Shi Hao asked coldly.
“I never said that having a vicious ancestor would mean that the offspring are sinners. That was a rule set many years ago. I cherish your talent, so I want to give you a chance to get out of this prison,” said Yue Chan.
At this point, she was very calm. “Moreover, I’m not born here, so I’ll return to the upper realms eventually.”
Shi Hao was surprised. Was she from the upper realms? It was the first time he had heard about this, and it was also the first time that he was dealing with a creature from another world.
His eyes flickered like gold sparkles as if he could see through everything. He carefully studied the impeccable woman.
Certain things began to make sense. Could it be the case with Heaven Mending Sect and Immortal Mountain too?
The idea shocked Shi Hao. If people of the upper realms were permanent residents of the eight regions, what were they after? Was that thing really so important?
“I think you’ve figured out some of it. Some of the cultivation knowledge is left behind by the upper realms, and not everyone is a sinner,” said Fairy Yue Chan.
No! Shi Hao then thought about something. It wasn’t easy to come down from the upper realms. It was impossible that all the disciples of the Heavenly Mending Sect and Immortal Mountain came from the upper realms. They were probably recruited in the eight regions, and Fairy Yue Chan was a special case. She came from the upper realms, and no one knew about it.
“I came when I was little and only learned it now. It’s the most severe type of training, and I’ll go back one day,” she said calmly.
“I would never have thought that I’m facing a fairy from the upper realms. You flatter me,” Shi Hao mocked her, but he couldn’t calm down.
Too much came to his mind right now. If the eight regions were prisons, then what about the ancient heavenly talents?
For instance, the archaic Kun Peng and the fallen True Phoenix. Did the Ten Vicious happen to die here, or was there a secret?
Did the people of the upper realms come here to look for precious objects and techniques?
Shi Hao was trembling inwardly. The eight regions were prisons, and that was too much of an impact. So many talented people were involved, and the Ten Vicious were the first to fall. What roles did they play?
Shi Hao’s eyes flickered, and his energy surged.
“After everything I said, do you really not want to break free from the prison and go into the big world? This is only an incomplete space,” said Fairy Yue Chan.
“Don’t flatter me. I’m a sinner, and I have my ancestor’s blood in my veins. The upper realms are too good for me, but if I want to go, I’ll get there myself!” Shi Hao’s eyes shone.
Fairy Yue Chan backed away, emitting diving light.
With a boom, the private room exploded, and symbols all over the building shone. It wasn’t an ordinary building and was covered with formations. However, they all disintegrated.
Shi Hao and Fairy Yue Chan flew into the sky and fought a fierce battle. Densely packed symbols appeared, revealing the most profound aura.
The battle caught a lot of attention, and everyone was astonished. The energy was so powerful that it looked like two supreme experts at war.
However, the battle ended as soon as it started. Fairy Yue Chan swiped her jade sword across the air and broke out of the frozen space.
Meanwhile, Shi Hao frowned and looked in the direction of the royal palace. Dragon-shaped energy hovered above the palace, and the energy it gave off was like a real dragon.
“The aura is left behind by the Stone Emperor!” Shi Hao said, then turned to leave. Instead of fighting Fairy Yue Chan, he rushed toward the royal palace.
“I’ll slow him down.” A few people appeared behind Fairy Yue Chan, and a purple-clothed man offered to help.
“That won’t be necessary. Right now, only a couple of people and I can handle him. It’ll be too dangerous for you,” said Fairy Yue Chan.
“I haven’t made any contribution after joining the Heaven Mending Sect. I won’t be scared off by my enemy,” said the young man. He took out a precious artifact and attacked Shi Hao from behind.
In fact, he didn’t want to give up. Fairy Yue Chan valued his talent and invited him to join the Heaven Mending Sect. He wouldn’t admit that he was inferior to anyone.
He used to fight a fierce battle with Fairy Yue Chan and demonstrated his terrifying side.
Shi Hao turned around. Purple-gold lightning shot out of his eyes and hit the precious artifact, making it fall. He then turned around and kept moving toward the royal palace.
“What did the Stone Emperor leave behind?!” He really wanted to know.
