1409 Reporting Day
The Fourth of March, 2005, was the reporting day for first-year university students in China.
In the past, new students would report in September, which was after the summer break. However, because of unforeseen circumstances, the college entrance examination was delayed last year, so the day of the new students’ registration was delayed to the second year.
In the capital of China, outside Capital University.
Today could be said to be the liveliest day in every university in a year. People were surging outside the school gate. Countless new students rushed over from all over the country to report, and their parents accompanied almost all of them.
A black nanny van slowly stopped at the intersection two hundred meters away from the school.
The car door opened, and a handsome man in black sunglasses poked his head out. He looked at the university entrance in the distance.
“We can’t enter from the front. Let’s walk over.”
As Ji Haoyu spoke, he got out of the car first and went around to the back door to take down a white suitcase.
He was wearing a beige sweater with a pair of tailored gray pants and a pure black windbreaker. Today, Ji Haoyu demonstrated what a natural clothes rack was.
Then, another person jumped out of the car. It was Jian Ai.
Jian Ai was wearing the same beige sweater as Ji Haoyu today. She was wearing light blue jeans and white sneakers. The white coat she was wearing was a New Year’s gift made by Guan Tao.
She looked clean and refreshing.
“There’s a sea of people here, but you insisted on coming to join in the fun,” Jian Ai looked at Ji Haoyu and smiled.
Initially, she planned to let her brother send her off today because, after the New Year, Bai Zhou and her brother had already come to the capital in advance to busy themselves with the new company.
Unexpectedly, when Ji Haoyu heard this, he righteously said that he had to send Jian Ai to school today.
She initially thought it was a joke, but after Jian Ai boarded the plane, she realized that Ji Haoyu was sitting in the seat beside her.
Fortunately, Jian Ai was already used to Ji Haoyu’s domineeringness. He would always do something that looked out of line but was extremely romantic.
“Why? Aren’t you happy that I came to send you off?” Ji Haoyu walked to Jian Ai’s side and pulled her into his arms. He looked down at her.
Jian Ai didn’t resist and just smiled and nodded. “I’m happy.”
Ji Haoyu raised his eyebrows in satisfaction. When he let go of her, he naturally held her hand and interlocked his fingers. He said, “Let’s go. I’ll accompany you to find the dormitory first. If we’re late, we won’t be able to choose an excellent location.”
The entrance of Capital University was solemn and imposing. As the number one university in China, this was an academic hall that millions of students dreamed of. Someone had once wanted to enter Capital University for six years before finally getting what they wanted.
As the crowd entered the door, not far away was the welcome area organized by the seniors. A few teachers were directing the order.
“Come, the new students, line up in an orderly manner to register. Everyone, don’t crowd. Be careful.”
This scene was familiar. Jian Ai thought of the day she entered school in her previous life. She carried her luggage and staggered into the university just like that.
But now…
Jian Ai turned to look at Ji Haoyu’s perfect profile and smiled.
With Ji Haoyu’s image, as soon as he appeared, he naturally attracted everyone’s attention. His image, temperament, and clothes all scored full marks.
Only… the hand he was holding told the surrounding drooling gazes he belonged to someone.
“Hello, Senior.”
Finally, it was Jian Ai’s turn. She was received by a Year Two senior, a thin boy wearing glasses.
“Hello, Junior. Welcome to Capital University. Give me your student information,” the senior said.
After receiving Jian Ai’s information, he checked it. When the senior saw Jian Ai’s major, he couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows. He didn’t expect a girl to choose such a major.
“Jian Ai, computer science and information technology major… it’s at… I found it!” The senior’s eyes lit up. He looked up at Jian Ai and said, “Junior Jian Ai, your room is arranged in Block Three, Room 306, in the girls’ dormitory. You can ask one of the seniors by the side to take you there.”
As he spoke, the senior pointed at the seniors with armbands beside the reception area. These people were all here to welcome the new students and lead the way for them.
However, Jian Ai was too familiar with Capital University. Although the dormitory she lived in at this time was not the same as the one she lived in her previous life, the location was similar.
Jian Ai smiled and nodded. She thanked him and pulled the suitcase with Ji Haoyu to the side so that the students behind could register.
“Let’s find it ourselves and visit the school,” Jian Ai said to Ji Haoyu.
Ji Haoyu naturally had no objections. He came to send Jian Ai to school today to accompany her on this important day. Even if Jian Ai wanted to tour every corner of the school, he was willing to accompany her.
Just like that, the two of them held hands. Ji Haoyu pulled her suitcase and slowly walked into Capital University.
Jian Ai looked at this familiar yet unfamiliar place and couldn’t help but feel emotional. After going around in circles, she was finally back here.
It was the place where the dream started!
“How long haven’t you been back?” Jian Ai suddenly looked at Ji Haoyu and asked.
Many people did not know that Ji Haoyu was also a student at Capital University, but he had not graduated and had yet to receive his graduation certificate.
He had dropped out of school in his second year of university. Ji Haoyu did not say the exact reason, and Jian Ai did not ask further.
Ji Haoyu chuckled when he heard this. “I haven’t been back since I dropped out of school.”
“Why don’t you come back and continue studying? This way, we’ll be classmates!” Jian Ai joked.
When Ji Haoyu heard this, he smiled and said, “After becoming your boyfriend, why would I want to be your classmate?!”
Jian Ai rolled her eyes. She was used to hearing these mushy words, which came out of Ji Haoyu’s mouth so naturally. It did not seem like he had said them after careful consideration.
Every time, Jian Ai was caught off guard and blushed before she could react.
“Is this it?”
Ji Haoyu stopped in his tracks and raised his chin at a white building in front of him.
The words ‘Block Three’ were printed on the top of the dormitory building. Jian Ai nodded. “It’s here!”
After the two of them entered the dormitory building, they went to the third floor and followed the sign to Room 306.
She initially wanted to open the door with her key, but she realized the door was ajar. Her roommate had already arrived before her.
Jian Ai paused for a moment before slowly pushing the door open.
On the right side of the window in the room, a slender figure was bending down to tidy her things.
Hearing the creak of the door opening, the figure quickly stood up and turned around.
Even though she was mentally prepared, Jian Ai couldn’t help but be stunned.
The other party was stunned. She looked at Jian Ai and blinked with uncertainty.
Yang Xiaoman opened her mouth and asked tentatively, “Are you… Jian Ai?”
