Chapter 167: Chapter 167: Young Master, You are Trending!
To avoid Brandon Piers’ gaze constantly lingering on her earlobe, Abigail reluctantly removed her earrings.
Brandon looked at the smooth, flawless earlobe and felt comfortable all over. “The Stone family hasn’t canceled the engagement. Do you plan to attend?”
“Of course, I must go.” Abigail hadn’t forgotten her real purpose for coming to Clark Stone’s engagement ceremony today.
But as soon as she finished speaking, Brandon gave her a meaningful look. “Can’t let it go?”
Abigail didn’t understand and asked in confusion, “Can’t let go of what?”
“After all, he’s the man who fathered your child.” Thinking of the little fat boy saying she had Clark Stone’s child made Brandon feel inexplicably foul. His tone turned somewhat sarcastic. He was really curious when she would finally confess to him.
Abigail choked, her mouth opened, wanting to explain. But some things were hard to put into words if you didn’t tell the truth the first time, especially when she didn’t even clearly understand why she had a child with this man.
She sighed, “Let’s talk about the engagement.”
Seeing Abigail’s attitude, Brandon’s mood worsened. But making him expose the little fat boy and say he had long known the child was his, he couldn’t bring himself to do it.
“Fine. Tell me the reason.” Brandon suppressed his agitated mood. But his clear voice still held a trace of impatience.
At this point, Abigail saw no reason to hide from Brandon. She explained Aunt Claudia’s situation.
After hearing it, Brandon only focused on one point. “You never planned to be engaged to Clark Stone?”
“Why would I get engaged to a scumbag?” Abigail looked puzzled. She thought it was well-known that Clark Stone was a scumbag. But after she asked, she remembered she had told Brandon that she had a child with Clark Stone, and suddenly wore a forced smile. “Haha.”
Brandon didn’t notice Abigail’s awkwardness. Instead, because of her words, his previously irritable mood was smoothed out. He instructed Kennan Max outside the door, “You take her over.”
“Yes, Second Young Master.” Kennan responded, then respectfully invited Abigail and took her to Clark Stone’s engagement venue via the hotel’s special pathway.
After Abigail left, Kelvin Max finished up his task and came up to report the situation.
Brandon pushed his wheelchair into the next room and then looked at Kelvin. “Speak.”
“The man who fired the shot is nicknamed Gordon, real name Gordon London. He’s an amateur boxer. We already have people pursuing him. The injured girl is named Lucia Ralph, the daughter of a guest of the Stones and a freshman at Marine University. The one who accidentally injured her is Jennifer Sawyer, a nurse at Sincere Hospital. From the surveillance footage, Jennifer Sawyer initially intended to attack Miss Abigail.” Kelvin called Miss Abigail along with Pullan.
“Investigate the connection between Jennifer Sawyer and Ruby Green. And loosen the restrictions with the police. Get the Greens’ parents to attend the Stone engagement. Don’t let Grandpa attend.” Brandon frowned after hearing this. It seemed Ruby Green had made dual preparations today. Gordon was just a backup.
“I will arrange it immediately.”
“Hmm.” Brandon responded. Although it seemed the little fat boy had arranged everything, he still felt uneasy. “I’ll go too.”
“Your body…”
“Just to watch the show.” Brandon waved his hand.
“Watch the show? Fine.” Kelvin reluctantly agreed but didn’t move.
Brandon raised an eyebrow. “Anything else?”
“You trended online!”
Brandon frowned. The Piers family had always been low-key, even in times of crisis. The internal conflicts were kept within the family. Even his failed surgery was only spread in a small circle. How did he trend?
Kelvin awkwardly handed over his phone. “It’s because of your love story with Miss Green.”
Brandon, “… Love story?”
