Chapter 61: Chapter 61 Has This Fat Man Gone Crazy?
Clark Stone finished speaking affectionately, but did not see the expected touch on Abigail Green’s face. He frowned. “Abigail?”
He always felt that something was different about Abigail during this meeting.
“It’s a bit noisy.” The later it got, the more people were in the bar. Abigail lowered her eyes, but her tone did not change.
Clark Stone seemed to realize something. “Sorry, Abigail. Master Hudson and his crew are used to gathering here. I forgot you don’t frequent such places. It’s my bad.”
Though he said that, he showed no intention of leaving.
“I have something to do…”
“Sit here.” Before Abigail could finish, Clark Stone pulled her to sit at Master Hudson’s booth.
This time, Abigail couldn’t avoid him due to his sudden action. She looked displeased.
She didn’t like this man.
She had seen him contacting Abigail Green multiple times in the past, and Abigail, indeed, had feelings for him for years. Abigail’s memory contained many sweet memories about Clark Stone.
Those were the bright spots in Abigail Green’s life.
Abigail decided to come here because of those memories, but what she saw and felt today was completely different from how Clark Stone appeared in those memories.
He had no sense of time, was frivolous, and arrogant.
And he was friends with Mona Wilde.
If Abigail wasn’t mistaken, Mona Wilde was also Ruby Green’s friend.
Birds of a feather flock together, indeed.
Moreover, Clark Stone had known Abigail Green for years, yet he chose to meet her at a bar for their first reunion. If he wasn’t brainless, it meant he didn’t care about Abigail Green’s feelings at all.
Judging by all these, the man in front of her was not as considerate and gentle as he seemed.
“Abigail, what would you like to drink?” Clark Stone turned his head and asked Abigail, his eyes still filled with sickly sweetness.
If this were Abigail Green, Abigail believed she would be over the moon by now.
“No need. I have something to say to you.” As she spoke, Abigail glanced at the time.
Clark Stone ignored her, turning to instruct the waiter, “Waiter, one Blue Rose and one Brandy.”
Abigail frowned, her impression of Clark Stone worsening. She stood up directly. “I’m unaware of any engagement, and I have no plans to get married in the coming years. I came to see you to tell you these things. I used to like you, but now I don’t. Please don’t bother me again.”
The music in the bar had just stopped, and another song had yet to start. In order to ensure that Clark Stone heard her, Abigail raised her voice, causing an abrupt silence around her as she spoke.
Mona Wilde came back to get her bag from the booth and happened to hear it. Her heavily made-up eyes widened. What had she just heard?
The waiter stood still with two glasses of wine, unsure whether to set them down or not.
Everyone around looked at their table. Who would have thought that a plump woman would blatantly reject someone like this? The scene was…
A bit out of place, hence attention-grabbing.
It took Clark Stone a while to understand what he’d just heard. He suppressed the urge to slap Abigail on the spot, forced an awkward smile, “Abigail, you’re talking nonsense before even drinking.”
“I’m very serious.” Abigail said, then took a few red bills from her bag and looked at the embarrassed waiter standing by their table. “This drink’s on me.”
With that, she walked out of the bar.
Everyone watched her plump back until new music began playing, returning the once quiet bar to its usual noisy atmosphere.
Clark Stone’s face turned pale as he looked around. Throwing back the glass of brandy in one go, his eyes grew cold. He never expected Abigail Green to reject him.
Abigail Green dared to reject him?
She must be out of her mind!
