Chapter 72: Chapter 72 Abigail Green, do you dare to threaten me?
The air in the Stone family’s living room froze for ten seconds.
Clark Stone finally came over and grabbed the projector from Abigail’s hand. “What are you doing!”
The voice cracked, showing how angry he was.
“Didn’t you say it was just a misunderstanding?” Abigail changed her previous aggressive stance and looked at Clark Stone with grievance, finally showing a bit of a fiancée’s demeanor.
However, Clark saw a provocative smile in Abigail’s bright black eyes. He clenched his fists, ready to strike.
“Stand down.” Mr. Stone also snapped out of his daze from his son’s little movie. He barked coldly and hurriedly apologized to Lincoln Green. “My dear in-law, it’s Clark’s fault for being immature, but I assure you and Abigail that from today onwards, Clark will no longer have any ties with that woman.”
Lincoln Green’s face didn’t look good either, not because of Clark’s lies and deception towards his daughter, but because Abigail had embarrassed him again.
She had actually played such a thing at the Stone family’s place.
“Our Abigail also has her faults.” Lincoln glared hard at Abigail. “Put it away.”
The projection on the wall still hadn’t shut off, with intermittent shameful noises from the couple.
Abigail raised an eyebrow and leisurely turned off the projector, then put it into her bag. She looked at the people in the living room. “I did nothing wrong. I’m also calling off the engagement.”
With that, she ignored everyone in the living room and turned to leave calmly.
If it weren’t for the large size of the device, she even had a regal air about her.
Lincoln was so angry his face turned pale, but he still had to apologize to the Stones.
After just watching their son’s little video, the Stones looked embarrassed but knew that what Clark did was wrong. They could only handle Lincoln with a stiff upper lip.
But as soon as Lincoln left, Mrs. Stone smashed a cup on the floor without saying a word. “How could the Green family raise such a shameless thing? Fat as a pig and yet had no self-awareness at all. So what if our Clark just slept with a small internet celebrity? The engagement wasn’t even settled yet, and she’s already throwing her weight around!”
Mr. Stone’s hand veins pulsed faintly. He had originally thought Abigail Green was just an unloved young lady, seen before as timid and weak, not able to make it in public, but easy to control.
Who knew she would gain a hundred pounds and have a personality change?
Compared to the Stones, Clark’s face looked even worse.
Mrs. Stone pitied her son. “How about we just call off the engagement? We’ll find you a pretty one.”
“No, why not settle it?” Clark said between gritted teeth.
“Have you thought it through?” Mr. Stone looked at his son, his tone serious.
Clark nodded and smiled sinisterly. “If I don’t marry her, how am I supposed to get revenge? Don’t you think?”
Remembering the two slams Abigail had given him on the head that day and today’s blatant humiliation, Clark couldn’t wait to skin her alive.
But marrying Abigail to torment her was the most secure and profitable choice.
Besides, the Green family had made huge demands. Just Mrs. Taylor and her daughter were asking for six million, not to mention the investment in the cooperation project.
If their marriage to Abigail Green fell through, wouldn’t the Stones lose both money and face?
The Stones weren’t planning on calling off the engagement, and neither was Lincoln.
His chest trembled with rage as he left the Stone’s house. He raised his hand to slap Abigail, but despite her bulk, she easily dodged and looked coldly at the middle-aged man in front of her. “If you ever lay a hand on me again, don’t blame me for not being polite.”
“You dare threaten me? Abigail Green, you’re really rebelling.” Lincoln glared at Abigail and wanted to strike again, but when he met her cold gaze, he couldn’t help but shudder and instinctively stepped back.
How had he never noticed before that his daughter’s eyes could be so intimidating?
