Chapter 257: Chapter 257 Star Belt
Lin Shen didn’t hesitate and immediately took his seat.
After all, he was no match for Tian Xun, and this was Tian Xun’s territory; there was no need for coy calculations.
There were hardly any people in the village to begin with, only Yu had witnessed this scene, his mouth agape, unable to close it for a long while.
“Damn, did that kid just get incredibly lucky, and Tian Xun took a liking to him? That can’t be right; how could a big shot from the Celestial Race fancy a human Mutator!” Yu felt like he was really getting old and couldn’t understand the world anymore.
If Tian Xun wanted to trouble Lin Shen or had any matter to discuss with him, she certainly wouldn’t need to come to find him personally, let alone let a human Mutator aboard her flying vehicle.
“This Lin Shen is no simple guy,” Yu calculated inwardly, wondering if he should try to improve his relationship with Lin Shen in the future.
After Lin Shen boarded the flying vehicle, Tian Xun immediately took off into the sky.
“You’re not going to ask why I’m looking for you?” Tian Xun, seeing Lin Shen sitting there quietly and not saying a word, couldn’t help but become curious.
“Isn’t it because of what I said about wanting to marry you, and you’re here to settle the score?” Lin Shen wore a face of surprise.
“Of course not,” Tian Xun rolled her eyes, “You know who I am now, right?”
“I do,” Lin Shen nodded.
“Still want to marry me?” Tian Xun asked him with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile.
“Yes,” Lin Shen nodded earnestly.
“You can think about it, but if you don’t want to die, keep your mouth shut,” Tian Xun dropped her smile and continued while piloting the flying machine, “There’s something I need you to do. Once it’s done, I’ll give you a status allowing you to live on my Paradise Island.”
“What status?” Lin Shen asked in surprise, looking at Tian Xun.
“What status do you want?” Tian Xun asked with narrowed eyes.
“Anything,” Lin Shen, eyes downcast, dared not say anything too bold, knowing when to stop.
“In a few days, my little nephew will be coming to Giant Ring Star, and I plan to give him a small gift as a welcome present. The item is on a floating island in the Star Belt; I can’t go onto the island. You go and get the item for me, and I will give you permanent residence on Paradise Island,” Tian Xun revealed her purpose.
“If you can’t manage to get there, how am I, a mere Mutator, supposed to complete such a daunting task?” Lin Shen frowned.
“With that kind of courage, you still plan to go after me?” Tian Xun mocked, “Don’t worry, there’s a Nirvana Creature on that floating island which is extremely unfriendly towards the Celestial Race but very friendly towards humans. You just need to go there and take an item. Unless you’re seeking death and provoke it by going into the creature’s lair, there’s no danger.”
As she spoke, Tian Xun gave the Evil Dragon Capsule back to Lin Shen, “I can’t get too close to that place and can’t let it notice that you’re with me. Otherwise, as soon as you land on the island, you’re as good as dead. For the last stretch, you’ll have to go by yourself.”
“Are you sure there’s no danger?” Lin Shen took the capsule and asked again.
“Do you think, with my status, I would waste my time on such trivial matters?” Tian Xun was already somewhat displeased.
“I have a sister,” Lin Shen thought for a moment and said.
“Two permanent residencies,” Tian Xun offered generously.
“Can you tell me what’s on the island in detail? I should at least know where to go and what to fetch,” Lin Shen thought for a moment, feeling it would be better to learn more.
“On that island, there’s only one Nirvana Creature, named the Hell Gatekeeper. It’s quite hostile to other races, but fairly friendly towards humans. Once you’re on the island, as long as you don’t do anything foolishly suicidal, you’ll be fine,”
“After you land on the island, just follow the staircase upwards. There will be many corpses, wreckage, and various Spirit Bases and so forth on both sides. Look for a sword-shaped Spirit Base there; take it and bring it back.”
Tian Xun pressed something and a holo-image of a large sword appeared on the screen of the flying vessel. The hilt of the sword featured an angel figure with outstretched wings that formed the sword’s guard.
The blade was like white jade, with a holy radiance flowing within, resembling a surging sacred spring.
After seeing this, Lin Shen didn’t ask anything and was surprisingly silent, which made Tian Xun a bit astonished.
“Aren’t you going to ask about the origins of this sword?”
Lin Shen shook his head, “It’s not important. After all, it’s not being given to me.”
“Tenth Turn Spirit Base: Archangel’s Sword.” Even though Lin Shen did not inquire, Tian Xun felt compelled to tell.
“Being your nephew must be such bliss. Are you in need of any more nephews?” Lin Shen sighed.
Tian Xun couldn’t help but roll his eyes again, “If you don’t want to die, you should only take the Archangel’s Sword. Don’t touch anything else, not even a thread or a needle, otherwise, don’t blame me if you end up dead.”
“Got it, I’m not greedy,” Lin Shen suppressed his curiosity, not asking why the Tenth Turn Archangel’s Sword had been left there.
Even if he didn’t ask, Lin Shen could guess some of it; it was very likely that the Celestial Race had once besieged the Nirvana Creature on the island and failed, resulting in the loss of many Celestials there, unable to even retrieve their Spirit Bases.
The place must be quite dangerous, but Tian Xun’s confidence in sending him there meant that it wasn’t a fool’s errand, and there was no point in wasting time and energy otherwise.
If there was any danger, Lin Shen had a teleporter at hand, so he still had some means of escaping with his life.
As the two spoke, the flying vessel had already burst through the atmosphere, getting closer to the Star Belt.
The Star Belt was much larger than Lin Shen had imagined. The closer one got to the Star Belt, the more magnificent it seemed, endless like a celestial river.
Looking back, Lin Shen could take in the entirety of the giant planet. It was a green planet, mostly covered in vegetation, with just a small part being blue ocean.
With no points of reference, it was hard to determine just how many times larger the Giant Ring Star was compared to the Human Mother Planet.
As they neared the Star Belt, Lin Shen noticed a problem.
Indeed, the Star Belt was made up of countless Floating Meteorites of various sizes, but between those meteorites, there appeared to be a layer of transparent substance, like a misty veil, connecting them, and the true source of the illumination were those substances.
Countless meteorites, like the pebbles in a river, were immersed in the misty, veil-like light. The spectacle was magical and stunning, indescribably moving.
“What is that glowing thing?” Lin Shen curiously asked.
“Star rings. The reason the Giant Ring Star is called so, is because of the existence of these star rings,” Tian Xun said impassively, “We’re almost there. I can only take you this far. The Floating Ring Island you need to go to is right there; you have to manage the rest of the journey on your own. Within the star rings, you don’t have to worry about breathing; the star rings are very friendly toward life. The environment here is much better than inside the Giant Ring Star.”
Following the direction pointed out by Tian Xun, Lin Shen looked and immediately knew which Floating Ring Island Tian Xun was referring to.
Because that Floating Ring Island was simply too large, if not seen from here, Lin Shen felt it would be more appropriate to call it a planet.
Lin Shen personally thought that just the volume of that one Floating Ring Island might be greater than the Human Mother Planet.
