Chapter 21: Would He Dare He Stand And Speak To Me In That Tone

Bai Chuwei’s expression was extremely cold. “I do not wish to treat this illness. Go find someone else.”
Duan Xingye, who had finally managed to catch up to her, nearly cried. Hadn’t they agreed upon it earlier? Why did she suddenly renege on their agreement?
His grandfather was unable to hold on any longer!
Duan Feihan was someone who had experienced great storms and waves in his professional life, and managed to sweep everyone away successfully. He didn’t get perturbed by this sudden change and asked her in a calm expression. “Miss Bai, can I know the reason behind your decision?”
Bai Chuwei snorted. “I am in a bad mood.”
It was no wonder why she found Duan Feihan to be familiar. They had met in the past!
Duan Feihan maintained his composure and plucked the sandalwood beads on his left wrist. His low voice, similar to the highest quality cello, sounded next to her ear. “Then, how can I make Miss Bai feel better?”
Bai Chuwei could not discern if it was intentional or not, but his words felt inexplicably tempting.
Duan Xingye interrupted Bai Chuwei’s thoughts as he said, “Why? Why are you in a bad mood after you saw my grandfather?”
He suddenly became frightened and speculated. “Did my grandfather do something unfair to you?”
Duan Feihan’s eyes darkened slightly and he chided his nephew in a low voice. “Duan Xingye, watch what you say.”
Duan Xingye repeatedly slapped his mouth when he realised that his words sounded as if he was tarnishing her reputation. Just as he wanted to apologize, he saw Bai Chuwei in deep thoughts and she said, “Indeed, you can say that your grandfather has done something extremely unfair to me.”
Duan Xingye was dumbstruck. Oh my god?
His grandfather has always been a serious person and he disliked rich second generation people who bullied the poor by relying on their family background. He had always brought him up to be an upright man!
Bai Chuwei had no intention to explain the meaning behind her words and looked at Duan Feihan with a nostalgic look before she said indifferently, “I won’t treat this illness, and you don’t have to send me out, I’ll find the way myself.”
Duan Xingye panicked for a moment and looked at Bai Chuwei’s departing figure. He anxiously pulled on Duan Feihan’s sleeves and said, “Uncle, do you have any idea about how to convince her? What should we do now!”
He did not expect such a sudden change of event after they had invited her to their house.
Duan Feihan was in deep thought and just as he was about to speak, an immortal-like man with a dignified appearance appeared in front of them and shot a glance at Bai Chuwei.
His aged voice that contained traces of disdain said, “If your medical skills are lacking, you should admit it honestly. Why pretend that the Duan Family has done something wrong to you?”
He was an old man with a faint medical fragrance around him. He had a headful of white hair and grizzled goatee, but he didn’t have the kindness of an older senior. Instead, he appeared arrogant.
The servants passing by were all shocked. “Is he the almighty figure in the medical industry, senior Liu, Liu Zhen? Oh my god, I’ve heard that he has successfully cured cancer patients in the past!”
One of the middle-aged bodyguards spoke up in envy, “I think he is the magnate of the medical industry, senior Liu. He is a renowned character who has been on the news broadcast enough times! But I thought he had retired and no longer treated patients. Also, he is a hundred and twenty years old, but still looks so spirited. He is a prime example of a well maintained old man. I heard that it was Miss Tong who had personally visited him on multiple occasions to invite him on behalf of the family head!”
Bai Chuwei looked at the old man standing before her with an indiscernible smile. “My medical skills are lacking?”
She was someone who had accompanied the Farmer God1, planted hundred thousands of spiritual medicine, and also cured millions of people suffering from various diseases.
Forget the current doctors in the world, all the famous doctors recorded in the Chinese history for the past two thousand years, would have to respectfully call her ancestor1!
Liu Zhen’s gaze scornfully swept across Bai Chuwei. “Little brat, how could you possibly know any medical skills at your age, not to mention saving someone?”
Bai Chuwei answered indifferently. “Go back and ask your teacher if he dares to stand and speak to me in that tone.”
