Chapter 83: Chapter 083 Thank Dad for Saving My Life!!
Bai Chuwei laughed, “Kneel, if you want to kneel, I can handle it.”
Duan Xingye felt somewhat embarrassed, with so many people watching outside, it wasn’t appropriate, was it?
Duan Feihan spoke indifferently, “I’ll remember this for you first.”
During the conversation, a series of police sirens came from afar, speeding towards them. The police had received a report of a student suspected of a love-driven suicide jump from a rooftop and had immediately dispatched officers to the scene.
Seeing the two lively individuals, the police were somewhat taken aback; they had expected to find a bloody mess of a body: “Well, you should still come back with us to make a statement.”
Duan Xingye followed closely behind Bai Chuwei, fearing that she would leave him behind, scampering to sit next to Bai Chuwei in the back of the police car. Then, a cool voice came from behind:
“Sit in the front.”
Duan Feihan pulled him aside and strode up to the car first.
Duan Xingye: “…? Uncle Si, you don’t want your car anymore?”
Without changing his expression, Duan Feihan said, “I told the driver to come get it. You sit in the front.”
Grumbling inwardly, Duan Xingye obediently moved to sit in the passenger seat, much to the amazement of the observing police officers.
At the police station, Bai Chuwei sat beside Duan Xingye, watching him talk excitedly, while she remained silent throughout.
“You’re saying… you were possibly manipulated into jumping off the rooftop, but you survived the fall unscathed?” The police officer looked at Duan Xingye with a sense of exasperation, tempted to send him for a psychiatric evaluation first.
Duan Xingye earnestly replied, “Yes, that’s right!”
The officer chuckled dryly, cursing inwardly about illness, then turned to look at Bai Chuwei… and his face turned green!
The young girl, with the statement form A4 paper given to her, was seriously folding a paper crane…
These two are definitely mentally ill!
But one must admit, the paper crane was quite lifelike, with its two little white wings and sharp little beak, proudly raising its head.
After finishing the paper crane, Bai Chuwei lazily lifted her eyelids and asked, “Is the statement done? Okay, I’ll be heading back now, I haven’t eaten yet.”
With no crime committed and the possibility of mental illness, the police had no choice but to release them.
Exiting the police station, the sky outside had already darkened completely, with a few scattered stars twinkling in the night.
Duan Feihan’s black luxury car was parked by the entrance, but there was no sign of where he had gone.
Carrying the paper crane, Bai Chuwei leaned against the hood of Duan Feihan’s luxury car, casually saying to Duan Xingye, “Give me the pen.”
Duan Xingye was now utterly obedient to Bai Chuwei, hastily taking out a signing pen and holding it out to her with both hands.
Perhaps out of fear, he became even more talkative, Duan Xingye blabbered on, “Weiwei, do you think I still have a Bloody Disaster coming? Is my face dark? Is someone out to harm me?”
Bai Chuwei turned a deaf ear, her slender fingers taking the pen to write a sentence on the wing of the paper crane: “Roll over here within three days.”
Duan Xingye saw that Bai Chuwei didn’t respond and, scared, moved closer to her, “I’m scared, I want to go to your house…”
Bai Chuwei pinched the red signing pen and lightly touched the eyes of the paper crane with it.
In the instant of bringing the finishing touch, the paper crane seemed to come to life, its little wings flapping in the air.
Bai Chuwei gently lifted her palm, “Go.”
The little paper crane, flapping its wings, flew into the night sky.
Duan Xingye: “!!! Holy shit!”
Duan Xingye’s eyes bulged, and his legs went soft as he knelt in front of Bai Chuwei, giving an earnest bow towards the ground, “Thank you, daddy, for saving my life!!”
Seeing this scene as he returned from buying bread for them at the supermarket, Duan Feihan was speechless: “…”
