Chapter 256: Chapter 220 What Level?_3
Along with the talisman, Jiang Cheng also provided Liang Hong with two contracts identical to those of Li Youyuan, one of which was a liability waiver for using the Electro-Purification Talisman, and the other was a personal accident insurance.
If anything ever happened to Emperor of Liang, it would be normal for the beneficiary of the personal accident insurance policy to be the Prince.
With minor matters resolved, Liang Hong moved on to more important business, “Jiang Cheng, help me take her out for a walk. Just casually show her around.”
“Ah?”
“I’ve never asked anyone for favors in my life,” Liang Hong played the emotional card.
“Do you even believe what you’re saying?”
“It’s the last time! Don’t force me to get down on my knees and beg you!”
“It’s a deal.”
Out of consideration for the Prince Mansion, Jiang Cheng decided he would help Liang Hong one last time.
Since he was planning to visit Miaodan Workshop in the afternoon anyway, he might as well take someone on a tour.
“Where are we going?”
Downstairs at Hongyan Restaurant, Hai Lan asked Jiang Cheng.
Jiang Cheng hailed a taxi and said, “Going to a friend’s shop to look around.”
Hai Lan saw the taxi and frowned, asking, “Aren’t you going to buy a car?”
“No need.”
“But you’ll definitely need one when you get married, won’t you? Are you planning to always take taxis with your partner?”
Jiang Cheng thought about it, feeling that his partner’s cultivation level definitely wouldn’t be low.
Because one could hover for a short period at Foundation Establishment, and fly freely after Core Formation.
“If I were to get married, I probably wouldn’t always take taxis.”
“That sounds more like it,” Hai Lan was barely satisfied.
The two arrived at Miaodan Workshop.
Since Miaodan Workshop had a prominent reputation in the Capital, Hai Lan naturally knew about it.
Even though the Miaodan Workshop had suffered greatly due to the incident with the Plant Autonomy Talisman, the brand-new and stylish facade indicated that Miaodan Workshop still had significant resources and definitely was not a common small shop.
“Does your friend work at Miaodan Workshop?”
“She would probably be considered the boss,” said Jiang Cheng.
“You know the boss of Miaodan Workshop? You really have some impressive connections!” Hai Lan couldn’t help but look at Jiang Cheng with newfound respect.
“Master Shen, hello!”
A Miaodan Workshop employee actively greeted Jiang Cheng.
This took Hai Lan by surprise.
“You’re the boss?” Hai Lan asked, delighted.
“I’m not.”
Hai Lan was disappointed.
“I’m just an investor in Miaodan Workshop,” Jiang Cheng explained.
Hai Lan cheered up again, thinking to herself that Jiang Cheng was quite a catch. She decided she might give him the opportunity to invite her for dinner and possibly to further develop their relationship that evening.
However, a voice coming from the back of the shop made Hai Lan feel extremely uncomfortable.
“Madam Boss, the boss is here!”
Hai Lan’s eyes widened and she asked, “Madam Boss, you’re married?”
“No, they’re just shouting nonsense. The owner of this shop is my senior,” explained Jiang Cheng.
Although Jiang Cheng explained, Hai Lan was still not reassured until Shen Menghan appeared. Then, her hopes finally died.
Being a female cultivator herself, Hai Lan could tell the way Shen Menghan looked at Jiang Cheng.
Their relationship was certainly not simple.
“Jiang Cheng, she is…”
“A friend’s younger sister, Hai Lan. This is Master Shen of Miaodan Workshop,” Jiang Cheng introduced them briefly.
Facing Shen Menghan, Hai Lan couldn’t help but stand a bit taller.
Shen Menghan was indeed young and beautiful, but Hai Lan prided herself on not being outshined in beauty, thinking youth didn’t count for much. “A green kid, how can she compete with me?” she thought.
Shen Menghan, of course, noticed Hai Lan’s improper intent.
But as the owner of Miaodan Workshop, she needed to maintain her image in front of her employees; in a public setting, how could she afford to be too intimate with Jiang Cheng?
However, Shen Menghan had her own clever plan.
If she was too embarrassed, someone else might not be.
Twenty minutes later, Yue Linger arrived at Miaodan Workshop.
Yue Linger had no qualms about being close and stood right next to Jiang Cheng upon arrival, squeezing Hai Lan out uncomfortably.
First Shen Menghan, then Yue Linger, all stunningly beautiful.
Hai Lan didn’t understand; she had finally taken an interest in someone, so why was he so popular?
“Yue, you’re still young, there’s no need to be so aggressive just yet,” Hai Lan remarked with hidden mockery.
Yue Linger laughed, “Do you really think tigers and wolves are the ultimate predators?”
It was obvious Hai Lan didn’t understand.
Shen Menghan whispered, “Sister Yue, she’s still not giving up. What should we do?”
Yue Linger sneered, “She still harbors hope because she has lucked out so far. What’s her caliber? How dare she harbor the same thoughts about Jiang Cheng as I do? Just follow my lead later, we’ll get up close and pull a big move.”
“Alright.”
